10 Jack Taylor
Born: 12th November 1991
Role: Right-hand batsman, Off-spin bowler
Jack signed a two-year development contract with the club in February 2009, which coincided with his selection for the England Under-18’s squad to visit Malaysia. His first full-time professional contract came into effect in October 2010 upon completion of his studies.
Jack had been part of Gloucestershire’s Academy Programme for since 2007. With an excellent track record for the second XI in 2008, he was given England recognition the same year when he featured alongside fellow Academy player David Payne as part of a Development side against South Africa and MCC Universities.
The 2011 season saw Jack make three Championship appearances and 12 in one-day cricket, seven of which were in the T20 competition. He scored 38 and took 4-16 in a memorable victory over Somerset at Bristol to earn the man-of-the-match award and finished top of Gloucestershire’s T20 bowling averages with eight wickets at 14.75 apiece.
