9 Hamish Marshall

Born: Warkworth, Auckland, NZ. February 15th 1979.

Role: Right-handed batsman, Right-arm medium pace bowler.

Hamish is a stylish batsman who joined Gloucestershire in 2006. He made his Test debut for New Zealand against South Africa in December 2000, but then had to wait three years for his next international innings.

Called up for the one-day series against Pakistan in 2003/2004, Hamish posted an impressive 101 not out in Faisalabad. He finished top of Gloucestershire’s 40-over and Twenty20 batting averages in 2008, having refused a contract with New Zealand to concentrate on his county career.

The 2011 season saw Hamish and Kevin O’Brien set a Twenty20 record partnership of 192 for the first wicket against Middlesex at Uxbridge, helping Gloucestershire to a total of 254-3, the highest team score in domestic 20-over cricket.

In 2012 Hamish was Gloucestershire’s leading run-maker in first class and T20 cricket. His twin brother James has also represented New Zealand.
