30 Ed Young
Born: 21st May 1989, Chertsey, Surrey, England
Role: Right-hand batsman; Slow left-arm bowler
Ed Young signed a two-year development contract with the club in August 2010. A highly promising all-rounder, he has also played for Oxford MCCU and represented the Unicorns in the CB40 competition.
The 2011 season saw Ed become a regular and important member of Gloucestershire’s one-day team. He took 11 T20 wickets in 15 appearances and also played in 11 CB40 games, as well as three in the Championship.
He then went to Australia to spend part of the winter developing his game at the Darren Lehmann Academy in Perth, earning excellent reports for his work ethic in a testing environment that included rigorous fitness training as well as cricket.
