27 David Wade
Born: 27th September 1983, Chichester, Sussex, England
Role: Right-arm fast-medium bowler
David signed a two-year contract with the club for 2011 and 2012, but remains in the Army, combining training with Gloucestershire and soldiering during the winter, while being free to play cricket full time in the summer.
He was in Hampshire’s youth programme until the age of 17 and came to the club’s attention playing for Westbury in the West of England Premier League before being invited for a trial in August 2010.
David’s first season with Gloucestershire was hampered by a shoulder problem sustained in a warm-up game. He only regained fitness in time to play some second XI cricket towards the end of the summer, but is looking forward to challenging hard for a first team place in 2012.
