David Payne signed a two- year contract with the club starting in October 2009.
He had been with the GCCC Academy for two years and signed a development contract with the club at the start of 2009, which meant he trained with the first XI throughout that summer.
A member of the England squad for the Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand in the winter of 2009/10, David proved a key member of the side and is rated one of the county’s most promising players.
