Chris Dent

15 Chris Dent

Born: 20th January 1991

Role: Left hand bat

Chris signed a two-year contract with Gloucestershire in August 2009 and was selected in England’s squad for the Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand the following winter.

The local product, from Backwell, is a top order batsman, who bowls left arm spin, and an outstanding fielder. He has developed through GCCC youth cricket, having worked his way up through the age groups and the Gloucestershire Academy.

The 2011 season saw Chris sidelined for more than a month with a hand injury, but he bounced back to average 34.15 in the Championship and his 649 runs included a maiden century.

He was rewarded with a two-year extension to his contract. Injuries, including a broken finger, blighted his 2012 campaign, leaving him overdue a change of fortune.
