What is the Friends Provident t20?
Launched in 2003 the Twenty20 Cup replaced the Benson and Hedges Cup in the domestic calendar, completely transforming the game of cricket. With the 8 home group stage matches played in June and July (in 2010), the quarter finals and the finals day, the tournament is an exciting addition to the summer schedule.
T20 cricket can be enjoyed by the most dedicated of cricket fans right through to someone who simply hasn’t got a clue! With a carnival atmosphere and a total sense of fun, this form of cricket is high speed, high energy action. With such a wide appeal, t20 cricket is for every generation.
Entertainment
T20 matches begin either at 2.30pm, a perfect time for a family day out at the cricket. Or the evening matches are a popular event for many supporters, with the 5.30pm start making it easy to attend after work or school.
There is a lot of extra entertainment at these matches, in addition to the action packed cricket. In 2010 local attractions; Bristol Zoo Gardens, SS Great Britain and @Bristol brought a variety of exhibitions to the ground and the ICC World t20 Trophy was on display for one game!
Hospitality
Hospitality at t20 matches is incredibly popular. There are a variety of hospitality packages available for t20 games including individual bookings, private boxes or a private pitch side marquee.
The 2011 t20 fixtures have not yet been announced but if you would like to register your interest for corporate hospitality at either t20 Bristol or t20 Gloucester please email harriet.moon@glosccc.co.uk
